The Tasmanian Government’s Youth Jobs Strategy has now been released and will work to ensure the right supports, partnerships and policies are in place to help young Tasmanians navigate a smooth pathway through education, training or work.

The Southern Employment & Training Network (SETN) have released their Huon Valley Kingborough Workforce Planning Study final report.

The report details strategies and actions that will guide the SETN Jobs Hub in defining their role in workforce planning across the Huon Valley and Kingborough region.

We are hosting a free Jobs Expo on Friday, 9 June 2023 at the Huon Valley Trade Training Centre.

Local employers, training organisations and apprenticeship providers will be in attendance, sharing job vacancies, training opportunities and career pathways advice.

A workforce planning study is currently underway that will guide the SETN Jobs Hub to effectively address workforce related issues in the region.

An employer survey collecting insights and feedback from businesses about their current circumstances and goals for the future forms part of this study. The survey is now open and all employers in the Huon Valley and Kingborough are encouraged to participate.

A regional jobs hub to serve the Huon Valley, Channel and Bruny Island region is one step closer with the appointment of an Executive Officer for the Southern Employment and Training Network (SETN) last month, and commencement of a regional workforce planning study by KPMG.

Regional Jobs Hubs have been established by the State Government to help more Tasmanians into work. They bring local employers together with job seekers providing dedicated employment support services including career counselling, advice on how to get job ready, and transport options.
